The best part of my morning is watching Gretchen slip off of the tub. Not only is it hilarious, but I think if she can’t keep her balance, how can I? Do I have cat-like reflexes*? Can I jump several times my height? Do I have magical fairy dust in my wings? Well then, if she can and does—and yet still falls—what hope do the already clumsy have?
*Maybe you should think and then think again the next time you describe something or someone as having cat-like reflexes.
You can’t imagine how much I appreciate all of your kind words. I love you all. T.S. Eliot the cat and my friend Natasha are helping me think channel my energy into writing this morning, which might be the most productive use of these feelings. Especially as the rest of my family now seems to know and is being ridiculous as usual.

Happy Caturday! I don’t know if I could explain how much I love this cat, who just lay on me purring when it was time to get up. Eliot likes to jump on the bathroom sink and stare at himself in the mirror—and then he meows at his reflection. He makes me laugh—and sometimes wonder if I shouldn’t meow at myself in the mirror, too, as if to approve of my reflection, too.
Happy Caturday! (14 minutes late!) - See, A, I don’t love Gretchen more than Eliot!
