It’s too hard to work with a cat laying in your writing space…or maybe I’m just tired after cranking out three revisions in a week (with one more to come today).

GPOYW. Still not sold on this haircut or hair color. Exhausted. Come, Friday, come.

Guys. I got my hair cut and some highlights tonight. It’s really blonde. And big. And my bangs are just…something. And I just don’t know what to think about it.

Smile Sass Friday. I’m happy to report that I feel back among the land of the living. Still a sore throat, still a teeny bit of redness in my eye. Messy apartment. But I’m ready to work now. (And rest up for Chicago.)

Happy Belated Caturday. This is now a blog about pictures of me and sometimes my cat. And me writing late on a Saturday night other than going out. The Habit of Art is kicking my ass.

GPOYW Genuine Smile. Three reasons: 1. My class tonight was canceled and I suddenly have the evening free to read poetry and books about poetry and Nick Hornby’s Songbook and write, write, write (which is kind of like three big reasons in one). 2. My friend Sara caught me taking pics for GPOYW. 3. My hair generally gives everyone the middle finger and I’ve stopped being offended by it.

GPOYW from my ipad (last week). Except tumblr won’t let me upload a photo from my ipad. So I had to email myself. And well. Today’s been a real weird day again. Lookin’ good, 2012.

I’m not saying I look rough after a night out drinking all of the alcohol in Atlanta with Will and Courtney, but I am saying that I have probably looked better in my life. My solution is to drink all the coffee in Atlanta and muse on poetry and loss—in particular, Yusef Komunyakaa’s “A Voice on an Answering Machine.” (And I’m listening to Sufjan Stevens’s “The Age of Adz” for the one millionth time.) I hope your Sunday is just as peaceful.

Today? Today I got my hair cut (bangs!) and bought a dress (see above). Amazing. I never thought I’d own a dress so beautiful. I’m all ready for the holidays and have no place (yet) to go for New Year’s Eve.

All dressed up and…I’m going to write. Please disregard the mess. And whatever that expression is. My god, I need a haircut. But I’m finally not sick (sort of)! There are thirty thoughts going on in my head right now, and these are five of them. The rest are world-changing. Promise.
