Olivia of Twelfth Night has “self-indulged sensations” which relieve her grief

Yet another gem I tweeted. Twelfth Night for the win.

“…and the diction was thick and revealing.”

Pardon me while I cross platforms to tell you that I’ve been tweeting about phrases my students use in their thematic analysis papers. This one was on Twelfth Night, which apparently inspires some “thick and revealing” language.

Here I am, a bundle of past recollections and future dreams, knotted up in a reasonably attractive bundle of flesh.

Isn’t this the point of dating, the point of life?

At this point in the semester, I’m so stressed with my thesis and teaching and grading that I’ve taken to tweeting lyrics to Paula Abdul’s “Rush, Rush,” from her album Spellbound—which I loved when I was in the fourth grade. The best thing ever is speculating about whether Paula meant to be so damn dirty. I mean, “When you kiss me up and down, turn my senses all around”—that’s questionable. (Also, “I can feel it, I can feel you all through me.”) And she follows this up by saying, “I don’t know just how or why, but no one else has touched me—so deep, so deep, so deep inside.” Well, I think I just answered my own question, right?! (Interrobang.)
All I’m saying is this: I did not think this song was dirty when I was in the fourth grade. Bonus points to Paula for being dirty AND seeking love. And using pre-Sad-Keanu Reeves in the video—which unfortunately downplays the dirty.
And also, why aren’t you following me on twitter? I cracked myself up tonight.

True, sad story. Evan’s trying to start a “You might be at #AWP if…” twitter trend.

I’m going crazy today. You can watch if you’d like. It might have something to do with the fact that I’ve been to Starbucks (11:45ish), Blackbird Coffee (2:30ish), and back to Starbucks (6:45ish). SO MUCH COFFEE MAKES ME INSANE. Also, jittery. With all this nervous, insane, irrational, aggressive, anxious energy, I think I may write.
One last note: this little girl took ALL of the pastry samples at Starbucks and I am currently giving her the evil eye.

Somewhere along the line Rihanna stopped being a good girl, too—and she’s letting it all hang out on her official twitter. I’m beyond happy she hasn’t let a PR team take this down.

Is anyone all that surprised that I’ve been listening to Rihanna, Drake, and Taylor Swift non-stop? It’s finals week and I don’t even have time for something slow in the clenches. Throw in Lenny Kravitz and we have an “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” party.
